What Makes A Modular Home Better Than A Site-Built Home?

Two questions that are often asked are, "what actually makes a modular home better than a site built home?" And, "Why is that some site-built homes are cheaper than some manufactured homes?"

    All homes are custom built. You have an unlimited variety of floor plans & home styles to choose from. In addition to home designs, you also choose your home colors & building components.

    Air infiltration control is one factor that is often overlooked. A high percentage of heat loss is through cracks and openings in the ceiling and walls. These openings usually occur around windows, doors and in spaces left between sheets of sheathing. These openings are difficult to see in a site-built home while working overhead, and at a quick pace. Since modulars are constructed on framing tables, these cracks are deleted and eliminated early.

    One benefit of modular homes is their superior quality. Consistent quality is almost impossible to maintain and control with site-built homes. The elements simply work against them. Yet, quality is always built into a modular home right on the assembly line using "hightech" systems.

Vandals cause millions of dollars worth of damage a year to unfinished homes that are left unsecured. Modular homes eliminate this cost since our homes are designed to be delivered, erected, made weather tight and secured all in one day. All loose materials at the job site are secured inside the home to discourage potential thieves and vandals.
